Congratulations to board member Lisa Parshall, Ph.D., who recently received an appointment to serve as an editor for the Federal History Journal, the journal of the Society for History in the Federal Government.

Dr. Parshall also recently published a report through the Rockefeller Institute of Government, titled, “The Consolidation of Fire Protection Services in New York State: A Primer.” The report provides a comprehensive assessment of the provision of fire protection services in New York State and the opportunities, barriers, and legal mechanisms of consolidating fire districts and departments.

Congratulations to member Atta A. Ceesay, Ph.D., who received the winning the 2022 Leslie A. Whittington Excellence in Teaching at the 2022 NASPAA Annual Conference in October! NASPAA is the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration, which serves as the accrediting body for master’s degree programs in public policy, public affairs, and public administration.

Congratulations to past Board Member Rosaleen Nogle, who was recently named to the 2022 40 Under 40 Recognition Program (nationwide!) by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. We’re so proud of you, Rosaleen!

Congratulations to past Board Member Michael Ramos, who was honored during the CHANGEMAKERS 30 Under 30 Awards on December 10, 2021! This awards program serves to recognize young dynamic professionals in or from Western New York who are excelling in their careers and who have demonstrated a level of impact in that field. Michael received the honor for the Community / Political Engagement category.

Congratulations to member Graham Bowman for receiving the prestigious Founders’ Fellow Award from American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) National — one of just 24 recipients nationwide! Graham will receive a complimentary 2021 Annual Conference registration, a year-long mentorship with a seasoned practitioner or senior scholar, and professional development opportunities throughout their year. In December 2020, the National Center for Healthy Housing recognized the City of Buffalo’s Good Neighbors Network for its efforts during the beginning of the pandemic.
